Hello, I’m Aleshia
I am a Wisconsin born woman who loves to share her passion for herbal medicine, wellness practices, and balanced living with others. As a student of my own health and wellbeing, I share real life tested practices and knowledge gained through my personal journey and from my work with my clients. I enjoy being outside in nature, the slow moments of the day, cooking, running, and spending time with my family. I love to use my creative side in all I do. Creating healthier versions of some of my favorite recipes in the kitchen, natural products you can use for your daily well being, and blending herbal teas and tinctures are some of my favorite ways to express my creativity and passion.
For many years I had no idea what a healthy lifestyle was. Growing up I went to work with my Mom everyday. She owned a country grocery store with my Aunt and Grandmother. There I had endless amounts of sugar and processed foods available to me at all times. My Mom was a great cook, but I did not like anything green and many of our meals consisted of traditional hearty midwestern foods and with meat, starch, and a veggie (that I refused to eat).
Then in my early 20’s something had to change, the years of processed foods and sugar were taking their toll on my body and mind. I suffered from a few years of binge eating and blood sugar imbalances. I finally reached a point in which I knew that I had to start eating healthier foods and had sought out holistic therapies for help. These changes certainly helped but did not serve as an immediate cure all. I thought you could just eat better, take supplements, and you would be well. What I was still doing was ignoring the queues to rest or acknowledge the effects of overwhelming stress or my emotional triggers. As I journeyed on the path of healthier eating, exercise, and natural health, I started to find what I was looking for. I had also found what I was truly passionate about.
My husband's job in the military took us to Arizona where I worked for a naturopath in a herb and health food store. There I began my studies for a Health Specialist and Nutritional Counselor certificate. I learned so much during my time there and was able to begin to teach wellness and essential oil classes. Our roots brought us home to Wisconsin in 2013.
Once settled back in Wisconsin, my husband and I began trying to start a family, but it wasn’t happening as quickly as we thought. Western medicine left us with the option of medications I did not want to take, so I sought out Acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine from a talented practitioner in Oshkosh, WI. After a short time I went to work for her handling reception and patient care at her acupuncture clinic. The treatments and herbs helped to balance my body and my husband and I were able to conceive naturally and now have a healthy, happy almost 9 year old blessing. During this time I was also able to complete my Master Herbalist certificate to get one step closer to my goal of helping people navigate the same issues I had dealt with.
A move to our hometown in northern WI led me to work for a Chiropractic and Laser Therapy Center. I have spent the last three years working mostly with patients who have chronic pain. That experience has opened my heart even further, and made me realize that I am truly passionate about helping people. I want to see others feel well and be able to live their lives to the fullest for as long as they have on this beautiful earth.
The time spent working for these amazing practitioners has allowed me to gain knowledge in a variety of holistic fields and work closely with clients. Throughout my personal wellness journey I continue to learn and grow. Over the past year I have finally opened my heart and mind to the emotional side of healing and wellness. This is something I had closed off most of my life, thinking I was fed or fueled by that “stressed out’ feeling. Through meditation, tapping, breathwork and opening up to my own intuition I have been able to deepen my understanding of the mind-body-spirit connection. Physical ailments are often emotionally rooted, so to truly address your wellness, you must also acknowledge the emotions you are feeling and find practices to heal.
Now I am stepping out on my own and I am excited to share my passions with others by offering a variety of wellness based services and workshops that help people incorporate detoxing, healthy foods, herbs, essential oils, and lifestyle practices into their daily routines. I promise to continue learning, growing and sharing that with you.
